Stem cells, particularly mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), have immunomodulatory properties that can suppress autoimmune responses and reduce inflammation in the joints. MSCs https://stemplus.clinic/disease-treatment/rheumatoid-arthritis/ secrete growth factors that stimulate the regeneration of cartilage tissue and other joint components damaged in RA. Additionally, they can differentiate into chondrocytes, the cells that form cartilage, and contribute to the restoration of joint cartilage. Clinical trials using stem cells for the treatment of RA are currently in various stages of development. In some preliminary studies, patients treated with stem cells showed improved RA symptoms, reduced inflammation, and improved joint function.
